I wasn’t on the band at all this weekend. One of our volunteers (who used to lead worship at a church and has extensive music experience as well as his wife) led worship and it was great. He was face with a few challenges, a drummer who hadn’t played in 4 months, a drummer/electric guitarist who played bass and an electric player who played for the first time, and he did a great job.

It’s such a blessing to be able to have a solid team to step up on the stage and give me a weekend to experience worship from a different perspective. It’s also great to know that there’s a solid person there if I have to be gone for whatever reason.

It was a great weekend, it gave me a chance to see some of the things that are going on in the sanctuary, and to know some of the issues that we need to conquer. I’d really recommend this if you haven’t done it, even if you don’t have the resources to do it right now, start working towards it, it will pay off.
