Weekend Review – 05-2324-09
Ah, having a four piece band is both a great thing and a dangerous thing. It’s a great thing because it gives all the musicians plenty of room to be creative and musical. It’s dangerous because all of your errors are very exposed and if a part isn’t there, it’s more obvious.
That’s what this weekend was for me. We had a pretty solid group of musicians, who were able to hold their now, yet we were having other issues – like timing and rushing, etc. All in all, it was (…insert long writing pause for memorial day festivities…) still good, just frustrating to have issues like timing.
Here was our set:
- Alive Forever, Amen
- Read Isa 6:1-4
- Holy, Holy, Holy
- Prayer of focus
- How Great is our God
- Glory in the highest
- Fellowship
- Sermon (On Heaven)
- I Can Only Imagine
- Revelation Song
As far as the music connecting with people, that seemed to be really great. We’ve never done I can only imagine at our church, but people knew it pretty well. And ending on Revelation song after our Pastor shared a lot from the book of Revelation was also great.
One more week focusing on heaven and the after-life, then we’re back to normal. There aren’t all that many songs about heaven that we currently sing. Makes it a challenge.

I love the song “Alive forever Amen”! I heard it a few years ago when I was serving at a church with a team that was not strong enough to attempt it, but I saw it on your setlist and went, “oh yeah! that awesome song!” So I’ll try it at my current church and see what happens! Thanks for sharing your set list!
