Happy Mother’s Day! I don’t know about you, but I’m thankful for my wife and the great mother she is and I’m thankful for my mom too. We showed a video from Worship House Media today, that I’d be willing to be a bunch of you showed too, it’s called “Why She Deserves a Day.”(You can view it at the bottom of this post.) It was great, it was humorous and made a great point. If you’re wandering why moms deserve a day, I’d recommend you go check it out.

The rest of the weekend wasn’t about Mothers, we’re starting a new series this weekend on the After life. We’re using the series graphics that Lifechurch.tv put out for a series they did called “So you’re dead, now what?” They’re a great, high quality graphic and it makes your job a lot easier if you have anything to do with the series or series graphics, I’d strongly recommend you check them out.

This weekend had its bumps. Our drummer didn’t show, and we were doing some new songs, well not really new, but they were new to our group. It’s hard to find very many songs about heaven and the afterlife that are contemporary, so if you know any, please let me know!

Here was our set:

  • All The Earth Will Sing Your Praises
  • Great in all the Earth (Mike Honholtz)
  • “Why She Deserves a Day” video (View it below.)
  • Prayer for mothers
  • Did you feel the Mountains Tremble?
  • We Will Dance
  • Sermon
  • Take my life (Hymn – Tomlin Arr. – didn’t work cut it for Sunday)
  • Here am I (Mike Honholtz)

Again, if you have any songs that are great contemporary songs about Heaven or the afterlife, I’d appreciate your help. (Stryper’s “To Hell With the Devil” doesn’t count.)

I just don’t understand why “To hell with the devil” doesn’t count such an obvious song choice given the series. lol!

Sorry for your trouble with non-show team members, but it looks like your set was still very good. Thanks for your honesty because we have all gone through those moments, so we understand the frustration you probably felt.

As per the request for suggestions, I’m sure that you have already thought of this one, I Can Only Image by MercyMe would fit with your theme, or maybe even the old song In The Sweet By And By.
