Weekend Review – 02-28-03-01-09
I keep meaning to do a new graphic for weekend reviews and I just keep forgetting. I’ll try to get you a new one this week so you don’t have to look at the same one all the time.
This weekend has been a great weekend. Aside from not having our drummer at rehearsal on Wed. we were really well prepared for the weekend. We had our band practice on Wed. evening for all the band (minus the drummer), we had a vocals rehearsal on Saturday at 3:00 and full rehearsal at 4:00 (pm not am). There were still some skiffs along the way, but all in all, I feel like we were far better prepared to lead this weekends than I feel we are on most.
We did Lincoln’s new song “Today is the Day” which fit really well with our sermon last weekend. I planned on doing it last weekend, but when we didn’t have electric and I wasn’t sure about drums I cut it and opted for songs we already knew. However doing the song this week gave me an interesting tie back to last week. I was able to tell people to think back to last week as what pastor Bob talked about in terms of Sloth and diligence.
Here was our set:
- Today is the Day (Lincoln Brewster)
- Because of your Love (Paul Baloche)
- No Greater Love (Tommy Walker)
- Prayer to be diligent in our worship
- Beautiful the Blood (Fee)
- Your Name (Paul Baloche)
- Sermon
- Surrender (James Marc – Lincoln Brewster Arr.)
I’m really diggin’ Tommy Walker right now. It’s got a fresh feel for us, gives us a style that’s a lot different from most contemporary, our people seem to be liking it too.

That’s a good looking set. You know, I’ve heard some of Tommy Walker’s stuff but not enough to really KNOW it. I have honestly been meaning to just play some of his stuff throughout the day but just haven’t. Now that you have reminded me, I’m gonna do that this week. Thanks for the post.

Great set the only one i’m not familiar with is the Tommy Walker song.
beautiful the blood by Fee – great song. So huge. We jack with the bridge a little and start it off soft and I sing down an octave then slowly crank it up. It really rips some faces off.
